Redstone Peninsula

The Redstone Peninsula extends to the southwest from Baerstun, and extends a distance of about six days’ overland travel from the Misty March at the northwest isthmus to the town of Rudderbreak on the southeastern tip. The Redstone River runs from the slopes of Dordugaun-Mar down through the Redstone River Valley, past the town of Seven Mills, and finally empties into Baerstun Bay in a swampy river delta.

Dordugaun-Mar is the tallest mountain on the peninsula, and a semi-active volcano. Most settlements are near water and subsist on a combination of farming and fishing. The Redstone mountains split into two ranges, the Big Redstones and Little Redstones, which are along the south and north banks of the river, respectively. Countless freshwater streams cut through the mountains to feed the river.

Administratively, the peninsula is part of the Kingdom of Galena, but since the last Count Redstone died without issue there has been no noble in the county seat. It is not counted among Baerstun’s lands, but is administratively adjacent, and so Lord Wossname retains the authority to retain, dismiss, or replace the circuit magistrate, the magistrate is fed from donations and paid with taxes levied by the various village councils. Any monetary fine he levies must be approved by the village council.
